Cookie Policy

Which cookies and similar technologies HaircutsOff uses, what each one is for, and how you can switch them off.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way. Here we call all of them "cookies".

Cookies we set ourselves

  • sb-* (strictly necessary): set by Supabase, our authentication provider, when you sign in with Google. They keep your session secure and signed in, and are removed when you sign out. They can last up to 400 days if you never sign out.
  • patreon_oauth_state (strictly necessary, security): set only when you press "Connect Patreon". It holds a random value that protects the connection from forgery. HTTP-only, deleted after 10 minutes or when the connection finishes.
  • pp:view:* and pp:use:* (session storage): stop one browser tab from counting the same hairstyle view or prompt use twice. They contain no identifier, never leave your browser and disappear when you close the tab.

Coupon browsing, the ZIP search and the price archive do not set any cookies of their own. Strictly necessary cookies do not need consent; blocking them stops sign-in and the Patreon connection from working.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites, and to measure how ads perform. Google's advertising cookies include the DoubleClick cookie (for example IDE) and cookies with names such as __gads, __gpi and NID. Their names and lifetimes are set by Google and may change; Google lists them at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used, and stores that choice in its own cookie (for example FCCDCF) so it is not asked again on every page.

More about how Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

How to control cookies

  • Personalised ads: turn them off at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of participating vendors at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
  • Consent choice (EEA, UK, Switzerland): reopen Google's consent message through the privacy and cookie settings link it provides on the page.
  • Sign-in cookies: sign out, or delete your account on your profile page.
  • Your browser: every major browser lets you view, delete and block cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies may break sign-in.
